Patron of Hospitality Action
Atul Kochhar Patron of Hospitality Action
Following the appointment of its new Chair of Trustees, Atul Kochhar is now a Patron of the trade charity Hospitality Action.
Since 1837, the charity has been working to support hospitality workers and was one of the first UK charities to mount an emergency response to the Covid-19 pandemic. As the worst of the pandemic passed, the industry was hit by the cost-of-living crisis. The rising costs of accommodation, food and fuel are placing more hospitality families in danger of homelessness, and many businesses are at risk of failure, putting thousands of jobs in jeopardy.
Over the past three years alone, Hospitality Action has spent £3.5 million on grant-giving and has awarded more than 10,000 grants. The charity has also managed to grow its Employee Assistance Programme and helpline services, fielding some 26,000 calls to its helplines.
There’s still so much more to be done, however, and as a newly appointed Patron of the charity, Atul Kochhar strives to do his utmost to promote the charity and to support their crucial work.
