Celebrities and stars of the culinary world gathered in excitement as hosts, judges and contestants of the acclaimed new TV cooking competition, The World Cook, came together for the series launch party held at Kanishka in Mayfair, London. This exclusive event celebrated the arrival of the show’s second season, which premiered on Prime Video on Saturday 16th March, with the entire five-part series dropping simultaneously on the streaming service.

Among the guests at the evening affair were the esteemed hosts of The World Cook, presenters Emma Willis and Fred Sirieix, who attended the event with their families. Emma Willis, accompanied by her husband Matt Willis, and Fred Sirieix, attended with his fiancée Fruitcake, Atul Kochhar and Crystelle Pereira who are both judges

The World Cook Season Two promises to deliver a thrilling culinary experience, featuring 16 talented contenders from around the globe, each showcasing their culinary prowess in a high-stakes competition. Produced by Electric Robin, a Banijay UK company, and brought to screens by the travel company TUI, the show offers viewers a captivating journey into the world of competitive cooking.

The launch event also featured a tantalising showcase of dishes, flavours, and ingredients from some of the contributors in the upcoming season, meticulously recreated by Atul Kochhar himself. Attendees savoured delicacies such as Empanadas from Argentina, Herb-crusted lamb kofta from Hungary, and Stuffed naan bread from Sri Lanka, offering a tantalising glimpse into the culinary delights that await viewers in the new season.

About The World Cook Season 2

In the initial phase of The World Cook Season 2, 16 contestants showcase their culinary prowess across two thrilling episodes. Divided into two groups, each episode features eight contestants presenting their signature dishes at The World Cook HQ in the UK, representing their home nations with finesse. From Nigerian Pounded Yam & Egusi Stew to Swahili-inspired Chicken Cooked Two Ways from Kenya, the menu boasts an array of international delicacies.

Moving forward, the competition intensifies as four contestants from each episode advance to the next stage. In episode one, the spotlight shifts to Turkey’s Dalaman region, where contestants hone their skills under Tuncay Gülcü’s guidance at Chayote restaurant. In episode two, the journey continues in Iceland, with finalists collaborating with Chef Gunnar Gislason at Dill to craft culinary delights like Rutabaga Rose and Monkfish.

Episode three sees semi-finalists mastering Croatian desserts and Peka cooking at Kalamota Island Resort near Dubrovnik, Croatia. Their culinary prowess is put to the test at Villa Rose restaurant, where one finalist emerges victorious. In episode four, the journey takes them to Crete, where they delve into Cretan cuisine and indulge in a final cook-off at the hotel’s restaurant gardens.

The grand finale unfolds in Thailand, where the two finalists battle it out at Robinson Khao Lak near Phuket, crafting a four-course tasting menu inspired by their journey. The ultimate prize awaits, with one contestant earning the honour of having the restaurant at TUI BLUE Sarigerme Park Hotel named after them, along with collaborating with TUI to curate a personalized tasting menu.
